Why I’ve Been Quiet on Substack (But Writing Every Day)
A little update on what I’ve been writing.
June rolled in like a tidal wave—projects, travel, coaching sessions, life—and I haven’t stopped moving since.
But I have been writing. Just not here.
Hi, everyone;
If you’ve been wondering why it’s been so quiet on this page, I’ve been posting daily coaching tips on LinkedIn every single morning, Monday through Sunday, since June 1. Each post is written before 8am PST—sometimes voice memos on a walk or from the StairMaster, sometimes from the front seat of my car before going into a client meeting. And they’ve been… real.
This series started as a creative idea. A way to give back. A little nudge of insight or humanity each day. But I didn’t expect to feel this connected—or this exposed. These tips have opened up more real conversations than I imagined. They’ve reminded me that small truths, told consistently, carry weight.
Over the past three weeks, I’ve written about:
Why we avoid hard conversations (and how to stop making up stories)
What happens when we overcommit—even with the best of intentions
How imposter syndrome quietly follows us from childhood through leadership
The invisible exhaustion of always raising your own bar
Leading through hard decisions when the stakes are high
Remembering to pause, breathe, and let your nervous system catch up
What it means to be fully present—whether you lead a restaurant or a global team
Why sometimes doing “nothing” is exactly what you need
I’ve also been quietly rewriting and relaunching my website—another major writing project that demanded depth, clarity, and a thousand rounds of edits. (It’s live now, and I’m proud of it. But wow, that was a process.) So yes… the writing has been happening. Just not always in the places you might expect.
It’s been a stretch, no question. I’m running a full-time leadership firm. In the midst of a company rebrand. Coaching clients. Facilitating workshops. Helping my kids move home from college. Trying to stay healthy, grounded, and human while delivering meaningful work in what often feels like a too-fast world.
And through it all, these tips have become a kind of anchor—one I’ve been holding onto while inviting others to do the same.
Each one is different. Some are about work. Some are about wellness. Some about parenting, imposter syndrome, exhaustion, hard decisions, or the power of presence. Some are written with clarity. Some are messy and honest. But every one of them is mine. And at some point in this series, I realized I’m coaching myself, too.
I’ll be back here soon with something longer. A little deeper. Maybe part of what will become the opening chapter of the book I’ve been sketching out behind the scenes.
(Working title still TBD. Or maybe not.)
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this:
What’s something you’ve quietly been showing up for that deserves a little acknowledgment?
It doesn’t have to be public. Just name it. That counts too.
Thanks for sticking with me.
More soon.

Thanks, Amber, for the in-depth explanation. You have a lot going on, and I’d love to thank you. And you’re appreciated so much! Juggling all this and still mothering two college students and the challenges of being a wife! There is so much to be proud of. Kudos to you. Much deserved. Keep doing you because you’re rocking it!
